Head Of Department's Message
Dr. Iqbal Hussain Qadri
Message
It is my great privilege to inform you that an honest effort has been made by reputed professors and lecturers of the department of Botany to fulfil the needs of our talented aspiring students to become future plant scientists. Under the able guidance of these reputed tutors and by the grace of Almighty Allah our students can steer their career and crack the nut. Under NEP-2020 Scheme, a student who opts Botany as Major subject, completes graduation after three years, Honors after 4th year and M Sc Botany after 5th year. A graduate degree student with Botany as one subject and a post graduate (M Sc-Botany) degree student has a vast range of career opportunities in different field such as Teaching and Research, Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Olericulture, Silviculture, Indian Forest Services, Ecology and Environment, Ecosystem Management, Indian Museum Curators, Plant and Wildlife Educators, Wildlife Rehabilitators and Conservationists, Research Project Assistants and so on. In addition, there are numerous opportunities in the field of research in India and abroad.
Dear students we are striving relentlessly in making the quality education as a mark of our excellence. But at the same time, we need your healthy criticism through student feedback portal. That will fly us higher and higher in achieving our set goals.
Last but not the least I may put up a word of advice for my students to do justice with their studies and have patience. If you feel weak in studies, our effective tutors will solve your problem very easily but you must have courage and ‘Inshallah’ after 4-5 years your personality has a symbol of a plant scientist with your name.
I may conclude with a couplet from the great poet of Urdu and Saint, Dr. Allama Iqbal for the aspiring minds as:
“Tunde Mukhalif se na gabra aey Uqaab.
Yeh to chalti hai tujay uoncha udaane kay liye”
